Developing the Functions of Business
This website is going to be categorized by the functions of business. This will allow me to compile my thoughts, research, and concepts according to function, which will make writing a business plan easier. Each function will be explored, as they all contain unique issues and challenges. I will address major sub-topic under each function. Remember, the scope of this website is to help reader develop business plans for their internet businesses.
Administration:
The Administration department oversees all the roles that support the business operations. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; human resources, information management, financial planning, and accounting.
Operations:
The operations department typically focuses on processes involved with operating invested capital. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; Daily routines, scheduled maintenance, and process development.
Sales:
The sales department brings in the money. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; income generation, monetization strategies, and client relationship management.
Marketing:
The marketing department typically supports the sales effort in driving new business. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; brand management, contact management, and marketing campaigns.
R&D:
The research and development side of business invests time and capital into innovation. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; research projects, website development, and coding.
Competitive Intelligence:
The competitive intelligence department oversees the competitive landscape. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; new markets, competition, partnerships and product research
Finance:
The finance department oversees company funding and investment vehicles. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; financing, investments, and cashflow.
Strategic Planning:
The role of strategic planning is to develop forward-thinking strategies and explore new growth opportunities. Major sub-topics to be discussed include; strategic development, knowledge management, and new opportunities for growth.
